Summer Sunsets 2010

In early August 2010 smoke from wild fires in British Columbia drifted down to the Seattle area and turned the sunsets brilliant colors for about a week. A couple weeks later high pollution levels also created some nice colors at sunset. All of these photos were taken in the Seattle area in late summer.

Mt Rainier Summer 2010

I made two trips to the Paradise area in Mt Rainier National Park this summer. The first trip was in late July and the second in early August. The flowers were running about three weeks late on the bloom time this year due to the cold wet spring and early summer. While there weren't any great flower fields to photograph the weather was fairly clear and the sunsets were nice.

Spring Flowers 2010

These photos were all taken in the spring of 2010 in my garden in Bothell Washington or at the Bellevue Botanical Garden.

Boulder River Wilderness 2010

Feature Show Falls is my favorite waterfall in Washington state for photography. It changes character as the water volume varies throughout the year. In mid June 2010 the water flow was down so the falls were confined to the two main channels. It was overcast the day these photos were taken making for good photography but requiring long exposures.

Palm Springs 2010

The first week in May my wife, Sandy, and I went on vacation to Palm Springs. We both got sick on the trip so I didn't get a chance to do a lot of photography. I did manage to shoot several different places in and around Palm Springs on the days I was feeling OK.

Studio Shots 2010

When it's too nasty to shoot outdoors I occasionally set up a piece of plywood on my table saw and shoot in my "studio". These images were all taken in the first few months of 2010.

Winter 2010

The winter of 2010 in Seattle has been one of the warmest on record. These images were all taken between December 2009 and February 2010 at various locations in the Seattle area.

December 2009 Skagit Valley

The first week of December in Seattle was cold and clear. The Snow Geese are returning to the Skagit Valley for the winter offering many opportunities for some great photography.

2009 Fall Color

The fall of 2009 in Seattle was not as spectacular as the fall of 2008 but there was still some good color to be found. These images were all taken in October 2009 at various locations in the Seattle area.
